The PSOE will appeal the sentence that acquitted Francisco Camps in the Gürtel case

The PSOE announces to the National Court its intention to appeal to the Supreme Court the sentence that acquitted the former president of the Generalitat Francisco Camps for the awards of the Generalitat Valenciana to the company Orange Marketing, subsidiary in the Valencian Community of the Gürtel network.

In the document to which laSexta had access, the defense of former socialist deputies Carmen Ninet and Cristina Moreno explains that within two weeks they will assert their right to present an appeal to the Second Chamber of the Supreme Court.

Last May, the Second Criminal Chamber of the National Court acquitted the former president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Francisco Camps, of crime of influence peddling in ideal competition with the offense of prevarication of which he was accused in the Gürtel trial relating to contracts awarded to the company Orange Market.

In a 232-page judgment, the Court sentenced the members of the so-called Correa Group, among them Francisco C., Pablo C. and Álvaro P., after accepting the agreed sentences with the charges of up to two years and three months in prison for crimes of administrative corruption, falsification of commercial documents and embezzlement of public funds.

Besides Camps, the court also acquitted several councilors and officials of the Generalitat Valenciana for the public procurement which lasted over the years 2004 to 2009among which the contracts of the Tennis Open and the contracts of the major events of the Generalitat Valencia stand out for their exhibition at the FITUR fair.
