Pentagon orders $3.4 billion GMLRS missile production

The United States has signed a contract with the defense industrial corporation Lockheed Martin for the production of GMLRS missiles. Information about this was published on the Pentagon’s website on August 30.

Lockheed Martin has reportedly received a modification to its Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS) contract worth more than $3.4 billion.

The missiles are scheduled for delivery in October 2027.

Earlier, on August 29, the United States signed contracts with Lockheed Martin for a total of about $5 billion to provide a range of services for the program of support, modernization and development of the fifth-generation F-35 fighter aircraft. On July 19, Lockheed Martin announced the start of deliveries of fifth-generation F-35 fighter aircraft. The company plans to deliver 75 to 110 aircraft of the new configuration in the second half of 2024 and in the future also expects to produce 156 aircraft per year, Izvestia recalls.
