The Head of State noted that as a result of the First Karabakh War up to 4,000 Azerbaijanis are considered missing for more than 30 years. Among them are civilians, including children and women. Six Azerbaijani citizens disappeared in the 2020 Patriotic War.
“New facts that emerged after the liberation of our lands from occupation have once again confirmed the testimonies of witnesses about the atrocities committed against the missing Azerbaijanis. As a result of exhumation work on mass graves discovered in our territories , the people taken hostage and captive by Armenia were subjected to torture, violence and inhuman treatment. Irrefutable evidence has been gathered that he was murdered,” the President of Azerbaijan emphasized.
