Extremadura’s budget for 2025 will include a 2% salary increase for civil servants

The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Elena Manzano, announced this Wednesday, October 2 to the media after meeting the CCOO and UGT unions and with the CREEX employers’ association that the budgets of Extremadura (PGEx) for 2025 will consider a 2% salary increase forecast for civil servants of the region, a game which amounted to 50 million euros.

He stressed that this increase “has not yet been agreed at national level, it is not yet closed”, but that the Council will budget it in 2025 at 2%, which “sounds good to social agents”.

Furthermore, during this meeting, Elena Manzano transferred to the Social Agents the convening of the general negotiating table to establish a payment schedule for everything owed to Extremadura civil servants since 2020.

As Elena Manzano explains, taking into account the fact that paying everything in a single annuity “is impossible”, the Council will propose to the General Negotiating Table that the payments take place “in several annuities”, and the first of them in 2025.

After highlighting in this regard the dialogue carried out by the Autonomous Government, he indicated that with the meeting this Wednesday, the Council intends to obtain from the social agents their contributions to the PGEx 2025, “being aware that we are in a negotiation process and even today, no precise figures can be provided.”

“We want to support social agents and employers’ organizations in this construction of Extremadura, in this growth of Extremadura”, underlined Manzano, who indicated that social agents have expressed their “concern” to the Commission. regarding “the same thing” about which the Regional Executive is “concerned”, “about continuing to build this egalitarian Extremadura, about the fact that the autonomous community continues to be a reference also in terms of employment, and in this support unconditional autonomy – employees and professionals”.

At this point, after defending that Extremadura was going to have “the best budgets in its history”, he stressed that the Regional Executive wants the accounts to be “approved and executed”, as well as a “proactive attitude” from the part of political groups.

“Maximum responsibility in what we do. We will have the best budgets that the autonomous community will have throughout history, and we want them to be approved and releasedand we want a proactive attitude from the groups,” he said.

“And with this responsibility and at the same time with the peace of mind that I am convinced that all the groups are interested in the people of Extremadura and that we are going to be able to reach an agreement, this is what will mark the times ” for the approval of the PGEx 2025 bill in the Board of Directors of the Management Board.

Finally, regarding the question of whether further contacts are planned with the parliamentary groups to negotiate the PGEx 2025, Elena Manzano declared that she would make telephone calls this week to advance the file.

“Now the progress we’re going to make, we agreed to make a phone call, I’ll do it sometime tomorrow or Friday.
