Multiple hand grenade explosions near Israeli embassy in Copenhagen under investigation

Three people were arrested this Wednesday in connection with two explosions recorded north of Copenhagen, near the Israeli embassy and without victimsDanish police reported. “In connection with last night’s explosions near the Israeli embassy in Hellerup, we arrested three people. Traffic at the central station was interrupted for just over half an hour due to police intervention. The explosions occurred around 3:20 a.m. local time (01:20 GMT) on Wednesday and it was agents guarding the diplomatic legation who raised the alarm.

“We have launched a thorough investigation and increased police presence in the area,” Copenhagen police deputy inspector Jakob Hansen said at a news conference hours later. According to Danish police, the explosions were caused by throw hand grenades.

The police cordoned off the area and reinforced their presence around the diplomatic legation. The Israeli embassy is located in the neighborhood of Hellerupnorth of the capital, in an area where other countries like Romania, Thailand, Iran and Türkiye. Swedish police also confirmed on Wednesday that a shot was fired yesterday evening at the Israeli diplomatic legation in Stockholm.

“Findings have been made indicating that the Israeli embassy was hit by a gunshot. No one was injured. A preliminary investigation has been opened for serious weapons-related crimes. “There have been no arrests,” Swedish police said in a statement.

Iran launched this Tuesday an attack with around 200 missiles against Israel in response to the redoubled Israeli offensive against Lebanon, 90% of which hit their targets, according to the Revolutionary Guards. The elite military body said in a statement that the targets hit included those planned to assassinate Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah and an Iranian general.
