Our correspondent enters the Shiite stronghold of Beirut most punished by Israel

At dawn, Israeli forces bombarded numerous towns in southern and eastern Lebanon, where the main strongholds of the Shiite group Hezbollah are located. Also the southern suburbs of Beirut, known as Dahye, where the Israeli army requested the evacuation of certain areas last night. Our correspondent in Lebanon, Miguel Flores, is precisely here, at the place where 18 people died last night.

“Hezbollah’s activities force the army to act forcefully against the group,” the Israeli army’s Arab spokesman, Avichay Adraee, said in a message. “The army has no intention of harming them, so for their safety, they should immediately evacuate their homes and head north to the Awali River.”

The correspondent says that This is the first time that journalists have had free access to this district of Beirut. Specifically, at the headquarters of one of the television channels popular among Hezbollah supporters. “It’s one of the neighborhoods,” he explains, “with the highest population density in all of Lebanon.”
