US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and incoming NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed the importance of immediate assistance to Ukraine in a telephone conversation, the US foreign policy department reported.
“Blinken and Secretary General Rutte discussed issues related to immediate and continued support to Ukraine, including the implementation of NATO’s security training and assistance program.” – says a statement from the US State Department.
He notes that Blinken and Rutte also discussed deepening NATO cooperation with partner countries, including in the Indo-Pacific region and with the bloc’s neighbors “to the South.”
The interlocutors “underlined the importance of NATO’s indispensable transatlantic ties to guarantee security,” Interfax quotes the State Department.
