Ávoris Business Corporation organized last Saturday a environmental awareness day in collaboration with TIRME, the environmental technology park of Mallorca. More than 80 people participated in the event, including company employees and their families, including 25 minors.
The day was divided into two main parts. In the first, while the minors benefited from educational activities supervised by specialized instructors, the participants saw two explanatory videos on waste management and the effects of the absence of treatment channels. Following, Montse Literascommunications technician at TIRME, hosted an interactive session answering questions about household recycling and sharing key data such as “nearly 70% of the waste that arrives in the brown container could be recycled if properly sorted”. He also presented practical cases and details on the sale of compost and the door-to-door collection system on the island.
The second part of the day included a circular train tour of the facilitiesending with the presentation of corporate gifts intended to encourage domestic recycling. These included colorful bags for sorting waste, reusable bottles and pencils made from recycled cardboard, Ávoris reports in a press release.
TIRME, waste treatment concessionaire in Mallorca, uses a model based on the “zero waste” objectivepromoting the circular economy and the active collaboration of all interest groups, materially and/or energetically recovering all urban and assimilable waste.
