Antitrust officials condemned MTS for unreasonable price increases. We are talking about an increase in the cost of communications services of 8% in the period from April to May 2024. In this regard, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has already issued an order to reduce tariffs, as reported in the official telegram channel of the FAS.
“In April and May 2024, MTS PJSC increased the cost of mobile services for more than 30 million subscribers by an average of 8%. According to the results of the analysis, the FAS Russia concluded that the increase is not economically justified and violates the interests of consumers.” – the Service said in a statement.
The FAS order for MTS is absolutely clear: “The service ordered MTS to reduce tariffs, within the framework of which changes occurred, and transfer illegally obtained income to the federal budget”.
