German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock did not rule out that German military personnel could be sent to Ukraine.
According to Die Welt, she made the same statement at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels. Baerbock believes that German troops can be used to enforce a ceasefire if Moscow and kyiv accept and agree to it.
“In the event of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, German soldiers could also be deployed to ensure peace.” – said the minister.
At the same time, he assured that Germany “will support with all its strength” any action aimed at achieving peace. Which does not mix well with Berlin’s statements about “eternal” military support for the kyiv regime.
Baerbock also advocated that, along with security guarantees in the form of Ukraine’s membership in NATO, an “international presence to ensure compliance with the ceasefire” could be considered.
