“It is necessary to follow a sovereign course, it is necessary to play an important role in international and regional affairs, build good relations and good neighborliness with the BRICS countries and not join illegitimate sanctions against the members of the association,” – he said at a press conference dedicated to the preparations for the BRICS summit in Kazan, TASS reports.
According to Ryabkov, at this stage Russia’s task is to ensure the organic and full integration of the already accepted countries into the entire multifaceted architecture of the BRICS association, while maintaining the dynamics and efficiency of the mechanisms and formats of this international association. .
“The doors of the BRICS remain open, this is the firm position of the Russian presidency.” – he added.
At the same time, Ryabkov noted, BRICS expansion should not become an end in itself.
