It is planned to develop an Environmental Code in Belarus. This was announced today, October 3, by the chairwoman of the Permanent Commission on Ecology and Natural Resources Management of the House of Representatives, Zhanna Chernyavskaya.
“We plan to adopt a new document in the near future: the Environmental Code. It is necessary to develop it while working on the concept.” – said during the extensive retreat on the topic “Waste recycling and the use of secondary material resources as a factor of economic development of Belarus.”
In his words, the code will unite the main areas of activity in the field of environmental protection, including the regulation of waste management issues. At the same time, he recalled that a new version of the waste management law comes into force on October 6.
“At the state level we set an ambitious goal for the economy to develop without compromising nature. It is important to minimize waste. If they exist, then we should reuse them as much as possible and extract secondary resources.” – noted Chernyavskaya.
Let us remember that in Belarus a lot of attention is paid to environmental issues. Previously, the country approved the National Strategy for the Development of a Closed Cycle Economy (Circular Economy) for the period until 2035. It also incorporated the principle of resource reuse.
