It should be noted that one of the most important directions of the economic policy implemented by President Ilham Aliyev in our country is the rapid development of the industrial sector, especially the non-oil sector. From this point of view, the creation and expansion of the activities of progressive mechanisms is of particular importance: industrial zones (industrial parks and neighborhoods) that are compatible with the needs of economic development of the new era.
The reintegration of our lands liberated from occupation into the country’s economy, new opportunities for cooperation and the growing potential of international and regional transport and logistics corridors create an additional incentive for the rapid development of Azerbaijan. Economic resources, natural resources, energy sources, underground deposits of metallic minerals, hot springs, raw material base for construction materials, transportation-transit, tourist opportunities, etc. increases the interest of investors in our liberated areas. The strategic geographical position of Jabrayil district in the Karabakh region, its location at the crossroads of Karabakh and other regions and access to infrastructure expand the possibilities of the district becoming the industrial center of Karabakh in the future. To this end, the creation of the “Araz Valley Economic Zone” Industrial Estate responds.
According to the Decree of the Head of State of October 4, 2021, the industrial park “Araz Valley Economic Zone” was established in Jabrayil district under the direction of the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZIA). As the main activity of the Industrial Park, the creation of a logistics and commercial center, warehouse complexes, wholesale and retail facilities, TIR fleet, customs, fuel refueling, car repair points and other equipment is planned in the Park.
The industrial park with an area of 200 hectares is organized in a very convenient area in terms of logistical possibilities, which is one of the main points that attract the attention of businessmen. Therefore, this industrial park is located on the newly built highway and railway tracks.
The industrial estate currently has 13 residents and 1 non-resident. Investors plan to invest 133.8 million manats in the park and create more than 2,000 jobs. To date, residents have invested more than 20 million manats in the industrial park and more than 40 permanent jobs have been created.
In the industrial park, the neighbors will manufacture fiber and polystyrene concrete blocks, additives for dry construction, domestic stones, adhesive tapes of various types, shoes, disinfectants, liquid solutions for washing and bleaching and other products, they will build a 40-bedroom hotel. rooms and a 100-person hotel-restaurant and build a logistics center.
Currently, a company is operational in the “Zona Económica del Valle de Araz” Industrial Estate. The company provides technical service for agricultural machinery and trucks.
