With the support of the Baku Initiative Group (BIG), an international conference on “The French policy of neocolonialism in Africa” was held.
The “Report” reports that representatives from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Guinea-Bissau, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mauritania, Zimbabwe, Niger and the island of Mayotte participated in the event.
The objective of the conference was to discuss the current problems of French neocolonial policy in Africa and its impact on the socioeconomic development of these countries.
Within the framework of the event, three panels were held where participants shared their experiences, discussed ways to combat the consequences of colonialism and emphasized the need for international cooperation to strengthen the position of African countries in global politics.
Taking into account the colonial past, special attention was paid to the question of sovereignty, which remains one of the central issues for African States.
The moderators and participants emphasized that international actors can play an important role in achieving full sovereignty for African countries. It was stated that despite rich natural resources and development potential, Africa continues to face obstacles on the path to economic independence.
The participants of the international conference highlighted the importance and productivity of the BTU’s activities in the fight against the colonial policy of France and other countries.
At the end, a short film about BTQ activities in the current year was shown to the participants.
