Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has promised to restore relations with Russia if the Ukrainian conflict ends during his term. Politico reports this.
Fico stated this in a press conference dedicated to the new fiscal package.
“If the war ends during the term of this government (2023-2027) ed.), I will do everything possible to resume economic and normal relations with Russia,” said Fico, quoted by Strana.
The European Union needs Russia and Russia needs the European Union, he emphasized.
There is no military solution to the conflict in Ukraine, Fico added.
