Oku.Az reports that Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, wrote about this on the social network account “X”.
“New mass graves were discovered in the village of Syrkhavand, which was liberated from the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijan. One of the most serious consequences of Armenia’s military aggression against Azerbaijan for 30 years is the fate of the missing people. More than 4,000 Azerbaijanis were tortured and murdered by Armenia in concentration camps and buried in mass graves. Armenia has not punished anyone responsible for these crimes. On the contrary, they have been praised and rewarded by Armenia.
“Armenia should recognize the state’s responsibility for all these crimes and demonstrate its true commitment to transitional justice and post-conflict reconciliation, and investigate and punish all war criminals accordingly,” he said.
