Residents of the Christian village of Kalia in southern Lebanon have risen up against the group’s militants, according to Lebanese sources linked to Hezbollah.
The Telegram channel “Alexey Zheleznov” writes about this.
During the clash that took place in the Al-Khiyam area, local residents shot dead one of the Hezbollah militants and set fire to a car in which several other members of the organization were traveling who were participating in the fighting against the IDF forces.
The topographical position of Qalia village, situated on a hill above the plain separating it from Al-Khiyam, gives local residents a strategic advantage. The incident has sparked an outcry on social media, with Hezbollah supporters openly expressing their anger against Qalia residents, using offensive nicknames such as “Army of One” and “South Lebanon Army” (SDF).
Experts believe that this incident may be a sign of the weakening of Hezbollah’s internal influence in Lebanon, as such clashes with the local population were previously rare.
Previously, Kursor reported that the Lebanese army made an unusual statement to citizens.
The Lebanese Armed Forces issued an unusual statement, calling on the country’s population to remain calm and avoid actions that could threaten public order. This statement came a day and a half after the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, which, according to the army, calls for greater restraint from citizens to avoid a division in society.
In a statement, the military noted that Israel’s continued attacks have caused the deaths of Nasrallah and many other Lebanese, numbering more than a thousand, and many have been injured in recent days. The army emphasizes that Lebanon is going through a critical stage in its history, when national unity and non-provocation become key elements in the struggle to maintain civil peace.
The military indicated that the Lebanese army is taking all necessary measures to ensure security and stability in the country. Army leaders expressed the hope that citizens will support these efforts and maintain unity, calling it the main guarantee of Lebanon’s independence and stability.
