The first The Best Tortilla competition arrives at the Jardines de Viveros de Valencia to crown the best omelette in Spain in an event where the public will act as a jury. From October 4 to 9, a selection of 15 finalists offer their tortilla skewers for sale to conquer the most demanding palates, who vote to determine the best preparation of 2024.
THE participants which submit to public sovereignty are: Zahara Cafetería de Ferrol, Piraña de Valladolid, Casa Miranda, Betanzos, Fortaleza 1786 de San Sebastián, Bar Malasaña de Valladolid, La Tortilla de Zabaleta de San Sebastián, Amatxi de Bilbao, Rosi La Loca . from Madrid, Chigre de Miranda de Ebro, Pez Tortilla from Madrid and the Madrid gastronomic influencer David Gelicook. QueenPotato, Pichurrita and Grupo Gastroadictos play at home.
The competition is tinged with a festival feel – with free entry – to enjoy afternoon and live music by local artists such as La Pelona, Calle Levante, Castigatis, Margott, Taranto, Sin Bikini, Generación Z or Tetuán Dos, among others.
In addition to traditional tortilla preparations, there are unique creations with or without onion, Betanzos style, truffle, chorizo or carbonara. To avoid queues, an online pre-sale of skewers has been activated while stocks last.
From its inauguration on Friday 4 at 6 p.m., the place will remain open every day from eleven in the morning until twelve in the evening.
