He explained how to prepare the car for winter to avoid typical problems.
According to the expert, the first procedure that should be carried out before the cold weather is changing the spark plugs and brake pads.
“Regular squeaks, squeaks or a characteristic smell, as well as a slow stopping process of the car, indicate a malfunction of the brake system,” he said.
According to the expert, the next important point is to check the suspension and steering.
“For this it is better to go to a car repair service. In any case, preventive maintenance will be cheaper than replacing the damaged part,” advises the expert.
Riazanov said that the car owner himself can change the filters and technical fluids: antifreeze and engine oil. Additionally, it is not difficult to operate locks and latches independently.
“Special attention should be paid to checking the battery: the technical center will evaluate whether it can withstand high loads in cold conditions,” added the expert.
The expert noted that checking the condition of the paint layer is of no small importance.
“If scars, scratches and other damage are found, they should be treated with an anti-corrosion agent,” the expert concluded.
