Sánchez and Page meet amid growing criticism over Catalan quota and pacts with Puigdemont and Bildu

The head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, continues today his series of bilateral meetings with regional presidents at the Moncloa Palace and will receive the “popular” throughout the day. Fernando López Miras (Murcia) And Carlos Mazón (Valencian Community), as well as the socialist Emiliano García-Page (Castile-La Mancha)who recently criticized the central government regarding the economic agreement in Catalonia, the agreement with EH Bildu to reform the Gag law or the amnesty agreements with former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont, among others.

In this way, Sánchez and Page will meet in a bilateral meeting after the President of Castilla-La Mancha raised his voice internally in the Federal Committee of the PSOE and publicly in several statements against the agreement with ERC for single financing in Catalonia.

The socialist baron has been the most critical of this economic agreement for Catalonia, warning that it affects the rest of the territories, but he has also spoken out against the amnesty law that the government agreed with Junts for the inauguration by Pedro Sanchez.

In fact, the government of Castile-La Mancha joined the regional executives of the PP and even presented an appeal for unconstitutionality against this amnesty law, which is currently being analyzed by the Constitutional Court to see the legitimization communities.

Now with the gag law

The President of Castile-La Mancha expressed his criticisms of the central government this Thursday, just before the meeting he will have with Sánchez, and on this occasion he mentioned the agreement reached with EH Bildu to reform the Gag Law. “If they removed the gag and could once and for all ask for forgiveness and recognize the pain of the victims, that would be enough,” said the Castilian-La Mancha president when asked by journalists about this agreement.

But he also attacked the former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont, demanding that Sánchez not give in to more blackmailBecause he will not overthrow the government until he has “free access to his amnesty”. Page regretted that Puigdemont returned yesterday to “threaten” the government. “He continues to insist that his seven votes are decisive.” “It’s normal that he goes through each day remembering that he has the remote, of course.”

López Miras, the first in La Moncloa

The president of the Region of Murcia, the “popular” Fernando López Miras, will be the one who opens the series of bilateral meetings with Sánchez this Friday, when he goes to the Palace of La Moncloa at 10:00 a.m.

According to what he announced, López Miras will attend this meeting “with the maximum desire for dialogue, with solidarity and equality among Spaniards as inalienable principles and with the absolute firmness required to defend the needs of the citizens of the Region of Murcia”.

“We have not been able to speak directly with the President of the Spanish Government for six years and there are needs that cannot be postponed and that cannot wait any longer to have a solution,” emphasized Ortuño, who highlighted among them “the water that we need and to which we are entitled.” and “fair” financing that “allows us to guarantee public services”.

He also mentioned among the issues that López Miras wants to address with Sánchez the promotion of infrastructure that is “essential to be able to develop and continue to create jobs and opportunities” and the “pending measures” for the protection and recovery of the Mar Menor. .

Second round for Mazón

From 12:30 p.m. it will be the turn of the “popular” Valencian Carlos Mazón, who already asked Sánchez to “react” and move forward in resolving the problems of the Valencian Community at tomorrow’s meeting in Moncloa.

Before the meeting with the President of the Government, Mazón declared that he would go to the meeting in Madrid with a “positive” and “practical” tone, although he demanded that the Central Government take measures to resolve the problems of the Valencian Community. Community.

“We want to put progress on the table. We are tired of not moving forward for too long with the government of Pedro Sánchez,” he said in statements from Brussels, in which he indicated that the region was becoming “impatient ” in the face of “lack of attention.” of the Executive.

Thus, Mazón regretted that Sánchez spent “a lot of time without reacting or addressing” the problems of the Valencian Community, a region that is “at the bottom” of public funding.

The three LACCs, underfunded

Precisely, this Friday in La Moncloa, Sánchez summoned the three presidents of the most underfunded autonomous communities, as well as Andalusia, in the middle of a debate on the reform of the regional financing model after the economic agreement for Catalonia.

This Thursday, a new report from the Foundation for Applied Economic Studies (Fedea) once again ratified the underfinancing that the Valencian Community, Murcia, Castile-La Mancha and Andalusia have suffered for several yearsfour regions calling for a leveling fund while the model is reformed.

Likewise, these three communities also have common and disparate demands, as is the case with the Tajo-Segura transfer. For their part, they share issues such as certain infrastructures such as the Mediterranean Corridor.

These meetings are part of the cycle that the head of executive usually carries out after the regional elections, although on this occasion Sánchez waited until the elections took place in all the communities to receive each one individually.

Last Friday, the president of Cantabria, María José Sáenz de Buruaga, her counterpart from La Rioja, Gonzalo Capellán and the Asturian socialist Adrián Barbón marched in the Moncloa. Previously, the Basque Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, and the presidents of Galicia and Andalusia, Alfonso Rueda and Juanma Moreno respectively, had already met Sánchez.
