In Russia, at the highest level, it was decided to exclude the Taliban* from the list of terrorists

A fundamental decision to exclude the radical Taliban movement* The delisting of terrorist organizations has been accepted at the highest level, but the necessary legal procedures must still be followed. This was reported to journalists by Zamir Kabulov, special representative of the Russian president for Afghanistan.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the Federal Security Service (FSB) and other Russian departments, are completing legal work on the process of expulsion of the Taliban movement.* from the list of Russian terrorists. It is not a question of desire; Russia’s top leaders have made a fundamental decision on this issue. But all processes must be carried out within the Russian legal framework.” — Kabulov noted after a meeting of the Moscow consultation format on Afghanistan.

Kabulov noted that Russian authorities “are obliged to comply with federal laws.”

“And I hope the final decision will be announced very soon.” – he added.

“This requires meticulous work by lawyers, parliament and other departments to ensure that this process is completed in the manner prescribed by law. The only question is this.” – highlighted the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, reports TASS.

Today, earlier, the director of the FSB of Russia Alexander Bortnikov stated that Russia is completing its consideration of the issue of expulsion of the Taliban movement* from the list of terrorist organizations. According to him, Moscow sees “the disposition of the Taliban* to fight the most dangerous wing of ISIS* “Vilayat Khorasan, which continues to receive resource support from the West, uses the capabilities of the terrorist group in subversive actions under false flags in our territory.”

EADaily adds that on October 4, the sixth meeting of the Moscow Format of Consultations (MFC) on Afghanistan was held in Moscow with the participation of special representatives and senior officials from Russia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The event was attended by the acting chief guest. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Amir Khan Mottaki.

All parties consolidated their support for the establishment of Afghanistan as an independent, united and peaceful State. They expressed their willingness to provide assistance to Kabul in the fields of fighting terrorism and fighting drugs.

IFC participants expressed interest in developing regional infrastructure projects with the participation of Afghanistan and highlighted the prospects for economic and trade exchanges and investment cooperation with Kabul. The parties also emphasized the need for international humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, which should not be politicized, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.
