The information was confirmed by the German Foreign Ministry.
It should be noted that Germany withdrew its ambassador to Iran due to the execution of Jamshid Sharmahd, a citizen of Iranian origin.
For information, let us add that Jamshid Sharmahd, a 68-year-old German citizen, was executed in Iran two days ago. He was kidnapped and forcibly taken to Iran during his visit to the United Arab Emirates in 2020. In February 2023, the Iranian court sentenced him to death, accusing him of creating a threat to national security. J. Sharmahd was found guilty of leading the royalist group “Tondar”, which is blamed for the 2008 bomb attack on the Shiraz religious center, which left 14 people dead and 215 injured.
