The Arcángel will undergo another renovation in the coming months which will affect the Préférence facade. A facade which has been the subject of criticism from many Cordobans for its incompleteness and neglected appearance. This is the first vision that many tourists think of the stadium when they arrive in Córdoba by highway and it does not leave a good impression. The mayor confirmed that the City Hall will allocate part of next year’s budget to the renovation of the facade of El Arcángel.
According to Canal Sur and ABC was able to confirm from municipal sources, the City Hall plans to reserve 850 thousand euros from the 2025 budget for the temporary closure of El Arcángel. Thus, he stressed that the facade will be similar to the rest of the stadium and could be removed in the future if necessary. Since last JulyCórdoba is the current manager of El Arcángel after signing the transfer. However, as the councilor recognized, the work will be undertaken by the Town Hall and not by the white and green entity.
Bellido also said that he hopes that these works will begin in 2025 after the corresponding bureaucratic processes. Municipal sources confirm to ABC that this budget is intended to seal the facade with a solution aesthetically compatible with the vision of the current stadium. The work will be reversible in case, in the future, it is decided to resume a private project for the offices located in the Preference zone, which belong to the Town Hall.
This week, during the State of the City debate, Bellido already acknowledged that with the stadium there was “an outstanding question.” It is for this reason that it has already announced that “the closure of the east and south facades will be undertaken next year”. “We found the right formula to avoid the sight of a stadium under permanent construction that this facility offers”, he added.
