Irevan – Paz, whose repertoire is aging, the number of viewers of CSMT programs is decreasing

The opinion of the Armenian authorities is like that of a distracted child. Sometimes symptoms of multiple sclerosis are also seen.

Recently, high-level artists from Russia visited Yerevan. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, his deputy Alexey Overchuk and others were guests of the Armenian government.

On September 5, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan visited Moscow on a business trip and met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. At the meeting, the ministers discussed in detail a number of issues related to the future development of the two countries’ strategic alliance and partnership relations, including economic-trade, scientific and cultural fields. Highlighting that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, the parties at all levels, including the Collective Security Treaty (CSTO), the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the CIS and expressed satisfaction with the close cooperation and active dialogue within the framework of other international organizations.

Almost two weeks after Mirzoyan’s visit to Moscow, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Pan-Armenian Forum that they are close to the “point of no return” in relations with the CSTO. According to him, the CSTO represents a threat to Armenia’s security, its future existence and its sovereignty: “Armenia froze its participation in the CSTO because this structure represented a threat to the sovereignty of the republic.”

Pashinyan also noted that his country has no intention of cutting economic relations with Russia and the EU. According to him, Armenia is trying to diversify its economic relations and develop cooperation with the European Union and the United States: “This is not a substitute, but a complement.”

CSTO Secretary General Imanali Tasmagambetov said the organization continues to consider Armenia as an equal partner and is ready to engage in dialogue on all issues.

In response to Pashinyan’s statement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed his disagreement with the prime minister’s assessment and stressed that there is no danger from the CSTO: “On the contrary, the organization calls for protecting the sovereignty of the member countries”.

Armenia has not participated in CSTO events in recent years.

On October 2, at the Warsaw Security Forum, “Global order and democracy: the map of the South Caucasus?” Ararat Mirzoyan, who spoke at the meeting, said that all risks related to Armenia’s exit from the CSTO must be carefully evaluated. “The main priority is stability, and any process that may take place must be calculated very carefully, especially in terms of risks,” he said, responding to a question at the forum about the prospects for his country’s exit from the organization.

On October 4, the council of heads of special services of the CIS member countries was held in Yerevan. Alexander Bortnikov, director of the Russian Federal Security Service, stressed at that meeting that the West is trying to remove Yerevan from the CSTO in exchange for a preferential supply of weapons and security guarantees to Armenia: “This will make it even more dependent on NATO. on issues of relations with Baku.”

During his years in the opposition, Nikol Pashinyan opposed the CSTO, the CIS and the IIA. However, although he made statements against the first, he continues working on the others. These institutions were established under the leadership of Russia. Therefore, it is a fraud to maintain contact with two of them and “freeze” the activity of one of them with the argument that it goes “against sovereignty.” Because one of the Moscow-sponsored organizations is bad and it is not logical for both to create a favorable opportunity for diversification to ensure economic and commercial interests.

The fact that Mirzoyan is important to think about the Security Council issue and that the priority is to focus on security, gives reason to assume that there is a difference of opinion in Pashinyan’s team.

It can be assumed that events such as Alexey Overchuk’s visit to Yerevan, the meeting of EU heads of government in Yerevan and Mikhail Mishustin’s participation in the event made Ararat Mirzoyan talk about risks.

Therefore, the Armenian authorities consider the following risks:

– The action led by Bagrat can turn into a mutiny;

– In the coming months, gas transferred from Russia to Armenia will be cut or reduced;

– The Georgian Military Highway will be closed under the pretext of unfavorable weather conditions;

– On the part of Armenia, provocations occurred on the border with Azerbaijan;

– There will be a conflict in the army;

– Refugees protest against the authorities;

– There may be an attempt to change the government;

– There will be a conflict with the Russian army, etc.

These are all situations that threaten the security of Armenia and increase the risk.

Therefore, the Yerevan CSTO game will take a little longer. Because the risks can cost Armenia dearly. Instability and false love of peace in peace negotiations with Azerbaijan, including issues such as delimitation and demarcation of borders, is also manifested in relation to the CSTO. Pashinyan and his team have been talking nonsense about Azerbaijan’s normalization process for four years. Instead of taking concrete steps discussing peace proposals, they imitate humanity. Impersonation is a genre of the show. All performances end. Therefore, the repertoire of the imitation theater of Pashinyan and Mirzoyan is outdated. The signature of such a government on the peace agreement will be invalid.

It will be difficult for the current Armenian government, which conducts politics with a distracted and scattered head…
