Three pit bulls that attacked collies in Canada were drugged – CP

Three pit bulls involved in a fatal attack on a 13-year-old border collie in Casplus, British Columbia, Canada, in early September were under the influence of drugs. This was announced by the city’s public services spokesperson, Will Beatty, reports The Canadian Press.

He said a urine test on the animals conducted after their capture showed two dogs tested positive for cocaine and amphetamines, and the third also had methamphetamine in its system.

“This is not the first time in my professional career that I have seen drugs in dog urine samples,” Beatty said.

It is unknown where or when the dogs ingested the drugs.

“Seized dogs cannot be safely rehabilitated and safety measures cannot be applied to the dogs in a manner that adequately protects public safety and prevents future injuries to people or animals.” – says a press release from the city authorities.

The city will go to a local court to obtain permission to euthanize the animals.

Three pit bulls were arrested after an attack on the morning of September 8 that left a family’s beloved pet dead in their backyard.
