A 56-year-old woman was detained in Kharkov who, for US$29,000, helped healthy men apply for disability to avoid mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Kharkov Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The woman claimed that she supposedly had close relationships with doctors from medical institutions in the city and could “help” pass the military medical commission, for which she asked for 29 thousand US dollars.
“According to the criminal plan, their “clients” should have been given a free second disability group, which would have given them the opportunity to travel abroad. Law enforcement officers detained the woman in accordance with art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine upon receiving the agreed amount of money in one of the Kharkov cafes”, — says the department’s telegram channel.
The participation of other people in this “plan” is currently being verified and the investigation continues, the prosecutor’s office said. The suspect was detained with the right to pay bail of 1,211,200 hryvnia. He faces up to eight years in prison with confiscation of assets.
“Prices (of bribes) increased by 2-4 times after the adoption of the updated law on mobilization in May. But they immediately wrote that this would be the case, because no standards were established for the control of TCC/SP/MSEC. The law was originally written for such “profits”! Pay or fight,” comments the Telegram channel “ZeRada” in the image of the day.
