Many car owners try to keep their vehicles in perfect condition not only from the outside, but also from under the hood. However, regular engine flushing can cause serious problems, even to the point of needing to be replaced.

“Usually, before selling the car, the engine is washed so that the part under the hood looks nice. This is also done in case of certain breakdowns: for example, when it is necessary to determine the cause and location of the fuel leak. In all other cases it makes no sense to wash the car engine,” said Konstantin Ligachyov.
According to him, this is an entire technological operation and any violation of it can have negative consequences for the vehicle.
The expert noted that engine washing is often done by masters who do not have sufficient knowledge about cars.
“They wash the engine with a lot of pressure and forget to cover the important elements. This can cause water to fall on the car’s electronics and cause a short circuit,” says the expert.
According to Ligachyov, it is especially dangerous for water to get into the car’s air filter.
“In this case, there is a high probability of a hydraulic shock, which is expensive: the motor needs to be replaced,” the expert added.
