The Local Government Council of Tudela Town Hallduring a session held today, October 4, agreed to propose as “Acoustically saturated zones (ZAS)” THE Herrerias, Bóveda and Mercadal streetsafter checking that exceed the thresholds set in the municipal noise ordinanceas shown by the result of acoustic studiodated April 10, 2024, carried out by the company ID Ingeniería Acústica SL
Concretely, both areas to be declared as “ZAS” These are Mercadal-Bóveda, which extends between numbers 1 and 12 of Plaza Mercadal and number 4 of Calle Bóveda, and Herrerías, which includes between number 38 of this street and number 1 of Calle Zurradores, both included.
According to the acoustic study, at all evaluation points in the Mercadal-Bóveda area, the limit values for ZAS declaration and in the Herrerías area this exceedance occurs in 3 of the 4 evaluation points and is between 0.1 and 3.3 dBA.
In this sense, as measures to be adopted, Tudela City Hall will not grant new authorizations for potentially noisy activities in these areas and will carry out an awareness campaign on existing problems. Additionally, a 30 calendar day public information period is open for interested parties to submit allegations.
‘ZAS’ and start of the procedure
THE ‘Municipal ordinance for the protection of the urban environment against the emission of noise and vibrations defined as “Acoustically saturated zones (ZAS)” those in which high noise levels occur due to the existence of numerous recreational activities, shows or public establishments, the activity of the people who use them, as well as any other activity that affects the saturation of the sound level of the area.
On this basis, through a plenary agreement dated January 30, 2023, The Tudela Town Hall has started the procedure for declaring an “Acoustically Saturated Zone” in these streetsmotivated by the concentration of a large number of leisure spaces, their acoustic problems and the multiple complaints from neighbors.
