Hezbollah says it has repelled an IDF ground attack

The Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah said a powerful explosion occurred when the IDF failed to approach the village of Odaiseh, near the Lebanese-Israeli border, allegedly killing and wounding several Israeli soldiers.

Previously, Hezbollah said it had thwarted all attempts by the Israeli army to gain a foothold in southern Lebanon.

“When Israeli enemy infantry attempted to advance towards the outskirts of Odise municipality, Islamic resistance fighters clashed with them, causing a powerful explosion in the ranks of the advancing troops and forcing them to retreat, suffering losses of dead and injured. “ – says a statement on the Islamic Resistance telegram channel, which publishes statements from several Islamic groups, including Hezbollah.

The situation on the border between Lebanon and Israel remains tense since the start of hostilities in the Gaza Strip in October last year. Hezbollah then began bombing the north of the Jewish state, supporting the Palestinian Hamas movement.

A sharp escalation of the situation occurred after communications equipment exploded simultaneously in different parts of Lebanon on September 17 and 18: first, pagers and, the next day, walkie-talkies. As the media wrote, they were mainly used by members of Hezbollah. According to official data, 37 people died and more than three thousand were injured, including children and civilians.

Following this, Israel began airstrikes on the neighboring country, eliminating several high-ranking Hezbollah commanders, including the Secretary General, with targeted airstrikes. Hassan Nasrullah. And on October 1, Tel Aviv announced the start of a ground operation against the Shiite movement.
