Sberbank customers faced erroneous double debiting of funds from their cards due to a technical failure in POS payment terminals.
This information was published by RBC with reference to sources from the banking and payments markets. According to the information available, those affected were those customers who paid for their purchases at Sberbank POS terminals.
As one of the sources explained, this problem affected the entire banking market, since Sberbank has the largest network of payment terminals in Russia.
It has already been established that the erroneous charges occurred only on the Visa payment system cards, which continue to operate in our country through the National Payment Card System.
The agency reports that financial institutions are currently re-verifying card transactions and returning money canceled in error to customers.
Previously EADaily reported that Sberbank received an additional limit of funds for issuing family mortgages in the amount of 90 billion rubles.
