The provisions of the peace agreement cannot be made public at the moment, as this would interfere with the negotiation process, Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the ruling Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly, said at a briefing in parliament, reports the ArmInfo agency.
According to him, the Armenian authorities have already shared all kinds of information with the public. Referring to the discussion on the inclusion in the document of Baku’s demand for the “return of Azerbaijani refugees”, the parliamentarian said that the issue was addressed at various stages of the negotiations.
The issue was raised by the Azerbaijanis, the Armenian opposition also raised the issue of the return of the forcibly displaced population to Nagorno-Karabakh: “In this global conversation, we have to understand what we are saying, what proposal and what counterproposal we can make.”
The secretary of the ruling faction accused the Armenian opposition of promoting the Azerbaijani agenda. “This is not the first time that the opposition acts as an Azerbaijani speaker,” — in turn, noted the deputy of the ruling “Civil Contract” Tsovinar Vardanian.
As for the threat of resumption of war, as Hovhannisyan noted, as long as there is no signed peace treaty on the table, the threat will always be relevant. At the same time, he said, he is not sure that once peace is concluded, this threat will be eliminated.
