The state manager of the Belgium railway infrastructure (SNCB) postponed this Friday to confirm the award to the producer of CAF BASQUE TRENES of the contract in the amount of 1,695 million euros from political pressure in this country. On Friday, the Belgian ADIF made a brief statement in which he explains that after he took the opposition of the State Council for this award of the Spanish company, he will make a decision at the next meeting, predictably in July next year.
In addition, he protects that two independent analysis responsible for assessing this award, both from a legal and technical point of view, confirm the decision adopted in February last year on the provision of CAF under this contract, reports Europa Press. This is a framework agreement on the delivery of nearby trains in this country of a maximum of 170,000 places, with the basic initial duty to amount to 1,695 million euros (units for 54,000 places).
Disputes began when the Belgian Council canceled this decision and asked CNCB to justify in more detail, the CAF election, which is participating in the Basque government, as the winner of this contract.
This decision is the fact that the main competitor of CAF in this contract, the French ALSTOM, has four production centers in this country, in which about 1900 people are employed, according to data published by the company.
This caused complaints between trade unions and some parties, among which there are those who criticize the presence of CAF in the occupied territories of the West Coast for concluding contracts for Israel, which affects the decision, finally, to conclude this important contract of Guipuzcoan.
