A helicopter full of passengers disappeared in Kamchatka

The airline Vityaz-Aero, which owns the helicopter that disappeared in Russia’s Kamchatka region, has been involved in air accidents before.

Oku.AzAccording to Izvestia, in August 2021, the Mi-8 helicopter crashed during landing and fell to a depth of about 100 meters in the Kuril Lake. Only 8 of the 16 people on board survived.

In addition, another Mi-8 helicopter of the airline made an emergency landing in the area of the Mutnovsky volcano in April 2017. There were 16 tourists and three crew members on board. During the landing, the aircraft’s chassis broke, resulting in three passengers suffering spinal fractures.

At the same time, in March 2015, three people were injured and two died in a plane crash. At that time, the helicopter “Mi-2” crashed near Yelizovo.

Meanwhile, pictures of tourists allegedly disappearing in Kamchatka, a mountain lake where excursions are regularly organised, have been posted on social media.

The area is currently covered in fog, making it difficult for helicopters to search for the area. Bad weather due to the cyclone is expected to continue for at least a day.

It should be noted that another helicopter was sent to search for the Mi-8 helicopter.

The Mi-8 helicopter of the Vityaz-Aero airline has disappeared in the Kamchatka region of Russia.

Oku.AzAccording to TASS, this was reported by the country’s operational services.

According to him, another airline plane has taken off to search for the helicopter and another Mi-8 helicopter, as well as a ground rescue team, are ready to patrol the route.

“The missing helicopter was travelling along the route of the Vachkajets volcano near the village of Nikolaevka,” the representative of the operational services said.

According to Rosaviasia (Federal Air Transport Agency), there were 22 people on board the helicopter.
