The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Damascus and from there threatens Israel

During the visit, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will discuss regional developments with Syrian officials after arriving in Damascus from Beirut. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei confirmed that Araghchi also expressed Iran’s support for Lebanon during a one-day visit to Beirut, where he met with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri , and other officials.

Araghchi said his visit was aimed at consulting on current events and stressed that Iran supports Hezbollah and considers the recent missile attack on Israel an act of self-defense. He clarified that Iran did not initiate hostilities, but rather responded to Israel’s actions. Araghchi also said Iran was preparing a diplomatic campaign in support of Lebanon and called a meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

In the context of his visit, the military conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensified. The Israeli military said it carried out airstrikes against Hezbollah militants who were using a mosque in southern Lebanon as a command center. The attack was the first since shooting began between Israel and Hezbollah about a year ago. Israel also said it had intercepted missiles launched from Lebanon, further escalating the fighting.

These developments confirm current tensions in the region, with Iran actively supporting Lebanon and Hezbollah amid Israeli military operations.
