The PP breaks off negotiations with the government on the migration crisis for having “refused aid” from the EU for the relocation of unaccompanied minors

The People’s Party broke off negotiations on the migration crisis and canceled the meeting scheduled for next Monday for this purpose after the words of Ángel Víctor Torres, Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, from whom they ask for a rectification of his remarks and urge him to accept the aid that The European Union has offered to collaborate on the issue of immigration, according to popular sources confirmed to LaSexta.

According to ‘El Español’, Ursula von der Leyen contacted the government in writing to show Brussels’ commitment to mitigating the migration crisis in Spain and “facilitate dialogue with the Member States which are committed” to welcoming migrants, always at the “request of Spain”.

However, The government rejected this aid. In an interview with ‘La Hora de La 1’, Ángel Víctor Torres ruled out this option without first collaborating with the autonomous communities led by the PP: “It makes no sense to force France, Belgium or Germany to welcome minors who do not wish to do so in their autonomous communities.. It is not understandable that there are communities who say: “I do not want them on my territory but I want them to go to other territories of other countries of the European Union”.

“It is a gesture which has no logic or coherence and which is very hypocritical,” he added. Words that were not well heard in Genoa. As popular sources assured LaSexta, the PP describes the rejection of aid from the European Union as “unacceptable” and demands an immediate rectification of the minister’s remarks.

Furthermore, they assured that They will not continue negotiations “because it is impossible to move forward”at the same time calling for efforts to be made for other EU Member States to assist in this migration emergency. For this reason, Miguel Tellado, popular spokesperson for Congress, sent to Angel Víctor Torres and Fernando Clavijo that cancels the meeting scheduled for next Monday to continue the negotiation.
