Mazón calls for unity and coexistence to celebrate October 9 “as citizens of the first division”

The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, called for the unity and coexistence of all the Valencian people to celebrate the feast of October 9so that society feels part of “a great collective journey in which everyone is a first-class citizen”.

This was stated by the head of the Consell during his presence in Alicante, accompanied by the mayor of the city, Luis Barcala, at the activities of the Festival “Som de la Terreta”, organized by the Generalitat on the occasion of the Valencian Community. Mazón stressed that he lives “with great enthusiasm” the days leading up to October 9 and expressed the “commitment” of the Generalitat in organizing this celebration. “So that it is experienced by all citizens, of all ages and in the three provinces, for let’s celebrate our self-government and our characteristics“, he argued.

In this sense, he valued the music festival “Som of the Terreta”which takes place for the first time in the Valencian Community, and which takes place simultaneously in València, Alicante and Vila-real (Castellón), with a program of activities for children, workshops and gastronomic tastings in the morning, as well as concerts in the afternoon.

For his part, the mayor of Alicante, Luis Barcala, stressed that “finally” the celebration of October 9 seems to be his “by all and for all Valencians” in Alicante, Castellón and Valencia. “All the weight of the Valencian Community in this celebration in Alicante of our holiday, October 9, here in our city as in the rest of the territories of Castellón and Valencia,” he underlined.

“Already It was time for things to change. and that October 9 was the celebration of all Valencians and that we all felt it as ours thanks to President Carlos Mazón. Now this festival is for everyone and for everyone and not just for a few, as has happened so far,” Barcala said.
