Russian soldiers executed Ukrainian prisoners in the Kharkov region

The investigation into the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian soldiers continues in the Kharkov region. According to data published by the Kharkov Regional Prosecutor’s Office, in the summer of 2024, four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shot on the territory of the Volchansk plant. It turned out that this crime was committed by order of the Russian command.

This information was published on the official page of the prosecutor’s office on Telegram.

The prosecution, citing testimonies from captured Russian soldiers, said that this evidence became the basis for launching an investigation. Currently, a preliminary investigation is already underway into violations of the laws and customs of war associated with the murder of prisoners of war.

It is also noted that one of the key points in this case is the fact that the suspect, according to testimonies, is also in Ukrainian captivity, which may facilitate the investigation process.

The head of the Kharkov regional prosecutor’s office, Alexander Filchakov, stressed that, despite the difficult conditions associated with hostilities, justice will be done to the perpetrators until the end. The suspect, if proven guilty, faces life in prison.

Separately, it is worth noting the recent events associated with the release of the Volchansky Aggregates Plant. According to the General Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, an operation to liberate the territory from Russian occupiers was successfully carried out at the plant at the end of September. Special forces soldiers carried out an operation during which they managed to unblock the plant, despite significant damage to the buildings.

Previously, Kursor wrote that the Russians executed a Ukrainian soldier with a sword, organizing “revenge for Kursk.”
