Israel, preparing for the anniversary of the October 7 massacre, is expanding its military operations on several fronts. Severe retaliation is expected against Iran in the coming days for its recent ballistic missile attack against Israeli targets.

The publication writes that signs of a rapid Israeli response intensified after French President Emmanuel Macron called for an international arms embargo on Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip. Macron stressed the need for a political solution to the conflict, noting that France does not supply weapons to Israel.
Israeli officials, who were not authorized to speak publicly, said a major attack on Iranian targets was planned soon. On Saturday, Israel had already attacked targets in Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip, as part of preparations for a possible escalation. While Israel set a response date for Tuesday, US President Joe Biden expressed concern and suggested that alternative measures should be considered instead of attacking Iranian oil facilities. Biden has made clear that Washington does not support attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Meanwhile, reports emerged about the possible death of Hashem Safieddine, a senior Hezbollah official and intended successor to Hassan Nasrallah.
Safieddine and his entourage may have been killed in an Israeli attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut, although Lebanese and Israeli officials have so far refrained from confirming this information.
