The Council will publish this Monday in the DOCM aid for the promotion of products protected by quality figures

He Government of Castile-La Mancha will dedicate two million euros to the next calls for differentiated quality support in the region, one aimed at promoting products covered by quality figures and the other at participation in quality schemes.

He Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Julián Martínez Lizánexplained it in Hellín where he attended the inauguration of the DOP Wine Fair of Jumilla and announced that this Monday the Order of Aid to Promotion and Information will be published in the Official Gazette of Castile- La Manche (DOCM) of products covered by quality. figures, which will be endowed with 5.7 million for the entire period of the new CAP, “and we will then publish the corresponding call for 2024, to which 1.5 million euros will be allocated”, as reported by the Council of administration in a press release.

These aids will allow promotional actions such as tastings, tastings, participation in national and international fairs, advertising plans, market studies, etc., “and as novelties, they include the possibility of carrying out sponsorships and be able to distribute the expenses of the management bodies.” .

As for the order to support the participation of operators in quality regimes, was published on September 24 in the DOCM and the first call should be launched in the coming days with aid of 500,000 euros.

Regarding the Jumilla DOP Wine Fair in Hellínthe councilor is proud to attend another year at an event “that we launched in 2016, when I was advisor to Agriculture, which is now in its eighth edition and which is therefore very consolidated, which serves to promote wines of the highest quality products made in this region of Castile-La Mancha, protected by the Jumilla Designation of Origin, which we share with the Region of Murcia, and which are under the Campo y guarantee brand Alma.

This year, they are participating in the show 12 wineries, 7 from the province of Albacete and 5 from Jumillaand everyone thanked them for their participation in this event.

The advisor valued this DOP, which currently has some 20,500 hectares of vines, 58 percent of which are in the province of Albacete, “a very important part for the regional government and in this sense we want to thank the work they are doing” .

In addition, 75 percent is certified organic and 70 percent of the cultivated area is of the Monastrell variety“the one which has best adapted over time to the climatic and soil conditions of this region, a grape variety which gives character to its wines and which has an important market niche”.

For this reason, and despite the rigors of the drought of the last three years, the councilor expressed confidence that he can begin “an important path to revitalize it and continue moving forward.”

Julián Martínez Lizán highlighted the quality of the products of Castilla-La Mancha, which is reflected in the 40 quality figures that exist today and today, at the Jumilla Wine Fair in Hellín “we have a double event, with the DO Arroz Calasparra and DO Jumilla winestwo denominations shared with Murcia, and a third which is Nueces de Nerpio, which demonstrate the particularity that unites the two territories and the great work that our farmers do to offer the consumer the best products.

Finally, the councilor invited all hellineros and hellineras and residents of the region to come to this fair to taste the wines, “a consumption that must always be done in moderation, by adults and people in good health”, and to taste a dish of Calasparra rice, the benefits of which include a solidarity component.

The event took place in the presence of the vice president of DO Jumilla, Eloy Sánchez; the president of the DO Arroz Calasparra, José Martínez Núñez; the coordinator of the Council in the province of Albacete, Ramón García; and the city’s mayor, Manuel Serena.
