It was the “maximum alert system” for emergency situations in which it is necessary to issue alerts to the population in a widespread and immediate manner and it was used for the first time to try to find a man elderly missing in the area thanks to citizen collaboration. Unfortunately, the 93-year-old man was found dead.
THE The disappearance of the old man was reported Thursday afternoonby his relatives, who were worried and knew nothing about him. The last time we saw him was at eleven in the morning. An operation made up of volunteers, rescue workers and Civil Guard troops began combing the area with the help of drones as night fell.
In this context, Civil Protection has decided to activate the ‘es-alert’ system with which the population was invited to collaborate where information available to the Emergency Coordination Center was provided to assist in the search for the elderly man, his physical characteristics and his latest location.
Civil Protection and the Emergency Agency deployed an extensive search system to locate the missing person. The helicopter of the Rescue and Rescue Group (GRS), the Forward Command Post (PMA), the Emergency Logistics Support Unit (UALE), the Fénix Unit (Drones) and the technical staff of the Emergency Coordination Center were mobilized.
