Israel could attack Iran on the night of October 7 – The Guardian

Israel will expand its operations on several fronts on Monday’s anniversary of the October 7 attacks, including “significant and serious” retaliation against Iran for a large-scale ballistic missile attack last week. The Guardian reports this in reference to the Israeli army.

“The IDF is preparing a response to Iran’s illegal and unprecedented attack on Israeli civilians and Israel,” the military officer said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The response is being prepared before the October 7 anniversary, the newspaper notes.

As the conflict escalates, rumors have intensified that an attack in the southern suburbs of Beirut had killed Hashem Safieddinwho was expected to succeed slain Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallahwrite the newspaper. According to Lebanese security sources, Safieddine has not been in contact since Friday. He is believed to have been killed along with his Iranian collaborators and advisers in a powerful attack that made access to the bodies difficult.
