Ukrainian Armed Forces seized Russian T-90 tanks in Kursk region

Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk region, fighters of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade of the Galician Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already captured seven enemy tanks, including the newest T-90M, four T-80BVM and two T-72.

This was reported on the brigade’s Telegram channel.

According to the information, the captured tanks will be used to strengthen the combat power of the Lviv paratroopers in the upcoming battles with Russian troops. “I always wanted to capture a Russian tank,” says soldier Bogdan in the published video.

It was he, together with his comrades-in-arms and representatives of the SBU, who managed to capture several brand new T-80BVMs in the vicinity of the town of Sudzha in the first days of fighting in the Kursk region.

The Galician brigade’s oil officer, Dmitri, said the captured tanks are in different technical conditions: from minor problems with communications to the need for major repairs.

The capture of the T-90M “Breakthrough” occurred during a raid operation by soldiers of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade behind enemy lines, when they were clearing enemy positions. Now the paratroopers are figuring out how to configure the control system. Another T-80BVM tank was captured during fighting near the town of Sudzha. The paratroopers discovered an abandoned Russian tank using a drone while conducting additional reconnaissance.

“The T-80s are of particular interest to us; they will be easy to master. They are in good technical condition, their mileage is about 80 km; on the contrary, we can say that they are practically new. , it is in poor condition, it is an outdated technology, which has been used for a long time. We are trying to restore them,” the military shared.

The Galician paratroopers note that the captured equipment significantly improves their capabilities. In their opinion, the problems that the Russians had with the T-80 tanks were due to insufficient training of the crews. This can be seen from the way the ammunition was clumsily loaded into the tank.

Earlier, Kursor reported and showed how pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are destroying crossings in the Kursk region of Russia.
