JAKARTA -Member of the Commission of the House of Representatives of V, Irina Yusiana Putri resolutely condemned cases of sexual harassment, which occurred on the KRL suburban line specializing in Tana-Abang Rrangcabitung. Irina’s assessment is a reminder that the public space, including mass transportation, is not yet completely safe for women and children.
“I am very concerned and strongly condemned by the act of persecution in KRL. The state must imagine that to guarantee the safety and comfort of women and children in all aspects of life, including in public transport, ”Irina said in a written statement indicated on Sunday (20/20/2025).
Irina also emphasized that sexual harassment was a criminal act that was born from the intentions of criminals, and not from the clothes or behavior of the victim. He resolutely abandoned every form of narrative, which accused the victims of sexual harassment, most women experienced by women for the crime they experienced.
“Sexual harassment is not a matter of clothing. This is a matter of criminals who consciously prefer to commit sexual crimes. What should be highlighted is the culprit, not victims. Women have the right to feel safe, anywhere and at any time, ”he said.
