CSTO exercises were held in Kazakhstan – EADaily, October 6, 2024 – Military news, Russian news

In Kazakhstan, at the Bereg training ground, the command post exercise with the peacekeeping forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) “Indestructible Brotherhood – 2024” ended. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense on October 6.

The institution noted that the servicemen of the Central Military Region, as part of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, jointly solved peacekeeping tasks at checkpoints and refugee reception points, patrolled the area, provided humanitarian assistance, evacuated the local population, blocked and captured terrorism drills.

It is reported that the solemn closing ceremony of the exercise was held at the range, during which the acting commander of the Central Military District presented medals, certificates and valuable gifts to the most distinguished participants of the exercise.

At the end, the countries’ national military contingents paraded in a single formation to the music of a military orchestra. An aerial overflight and the passage of military and special material were also carried out.

“The CSTO collective peacekeeping forces successfully fulfilled the multifaceted and multilateral tasks assigned to them during the exercise, the issues of preparation of the peacekeeping operation by the collective peacekeeping forces were resolved of CSTO peace. “The participants in the exercise showed a high level of coherence and clearly interacted when solving combat missions.” – noted the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the CSTO, Colonel General Andrey Serdyukov.

In total, more than 2,000 military personnel, 500 units of armored and automotive vehicles, Mi-17, Mi-35 helicopters, Il-76 and S-295 aircraft, and unmanned aircraft participated in the exercises. The basis of the Russian military contingent consisted of units of the 201st Russian military base of the Central Military Region: mountain and motorized rifle units, as well as crews of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), Izvestia reports.
