The flames caused a large column of black smoke early this Sunday
A 71-year-old man was injured by smoke inhalation in a fire that broke out on Sunday at an abandoned warehouse in Alboraya that contained several recycled oil tanks.
A local police patrol detected the fire around a quarter past seven in the morning. The officers assisted the man who was leaving the warehouse, located on Camí Assagador de Vera, on the border with the municipality of Valencia.
Nine teams of firefighters from Valencia are taking part in the extinguishing operations, alongside officers from the local police from Valencia and Alboraya.
The Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) mobilized two basic life support units (BLS) to the scene and healthcare personnel treated the injured man, who was transferred to the clinical hospital.
THE large column of black smoke caused by the flames moves eastwards via the west. Authorities recommended residents in the Patacona area keep their home windows closed.
