“No one asks me how I feel?”

A driver at the controls of a dark Audi caused a road accident in Toledo on Saturday evening in which four other cars were involved. During the drug test he tested positive for cocaine, he was fined 1,000 euros by local police officers and the proceedings were referred to the custody court in the capital of Castile-La Mancha.

The Valley ring road was closed to traffic for about an hour after the violent collision near the Base kiosk, around half past ten. At that time, there were many people at the viewpoint and several witnesses saw how the driver recklessly traveled the winding ring road, from where “the most beautiful night view in the world” can be seen.

In his reckless driving behavior, he crashed into a vehicle that was reversing out of one of the parking lots, causing the accident and damaging three other parked cars. Additionally, a woman was treated in an ambulance for an anxiety attack and a man complained of back pain.

With the presence of several local police patrols, the attacker attempted to regain control of the situation, presenting himself as a victim rather than the cause of an accident that could have been more serious. “No one asks me how I feel?” he said out loud as he moved from side to side, holding the phone to his ear, taking off and putting on a white sweatshirt.

He was also defiant at times, prompting a reaction from a person injured by his reckless driving as the public warned officers that they were closing the road with an official vehicle without its headlights on.

A municipal tow truck managed to evacuate the first vehicle with which it collided, but the driver of the Audi categorically refused to have his vehicle taken away. He did so by emphatically noting the damage to the front of his vehicle and claiming that he had called his insurance company and his lawyer by telephone.

After a while, he left the scene on foot towards the hermitage of Valle and an officer came out in pursuit of the offender, who tested positive for cocaine, negative for the breathalyzer and was sentenced to a fine of 1,000 euros.

By then, the highway was already open to traffic, but some drivers passed others who were traveling the Valley Highway as if it were a race track.
