In the next two days more than half of the monthly rainfall will fall in Moscow. They will be brought by Cyclone Kassandra, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos meteorological center, told RIA Novosti today, October 6.
A warm atmospheric front coming from the south, accompanied by rain clouds, has already crossed the Kaluga-Tula line. At 3:00 p.m. on Sunday it will start to rain in the southern and southwestern regions of the Moscow region, at 6:00 p.m. it will drizzle in Moscow, and at 9:00 p.m. it will turn into downpours: precipitation of up to 3.9 millimeters is expected.
The weather will get worse at night; Precipitation of up to 20.7 millimeters is expected until the morning and visibility will be reduced to 3 kilometers. The meteorologist added that on Monday the rainfall record of October 7, which has stood at 23.2 millimeters since 2003, could be surpassed.
On Tuesday, the winds will turn to the northeast and the temperature will drop to more than 10 to 15 degrees, the probability of precipitation will remain (another 5.7 millimeters are expected and will end only on Wednesday night), 0.7 millimeters, when it will cool down to plus 3-8.
By October 9, the barometer readings will begin to rise, but this will be the coldest day of October, the temperature will not exceed 5-10 degrees. Then the sun will rise. In the morning it will cool down to 0 – plus 5, in the afternoon plus 8-13. Friday will continue to be a good day and the temperature will rise to plus 12-17, Saturday will be the same and will be a degree warmer. According to Tishkovets, on Sunday, October 13, rains will resume in the capital and the temperature will drop to plus 8-13 degrees.
