Azerbaijani judokas took fourth place at the world championship

The World Youth Championship has ended in Dushanbe, capital of Tajikistan.

Idman.biz reports that the winners of the team competitions were announced on the last day.

Azerbaijani judokas entered the fight from the round of 16. Our team won 4:2 against the owners of the tatami. Our team’s work in the quarterfinals was not complicated. Our representatives defeated Turkmenistan 4 to 0.

Our team could not repeat the same success in the semifinals. In a tense fight with France, the opposing team won 4:3. In the bronze match our judokas faced the athletes from Uzbekistan. Our team lost 2:4 and finished the world championship without a medal.

It should be noted that our team won 3 medals in individual competitions. Kanan Nasibov (+100 kg) won silver, Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg) and Ajdar Bagirov (100 kg) won bronze medals.
