The investigation began this summer by the UDEV of the Provincial Brigade of the Judicial Police of Valencia, after learning of the commission of various robberies with violence and intimidation in the Patraix neighborhood, which shared “certain similarities” in terms of the “modus operandi” perpetrated by the alleged perpetrators.
The agents verified that they previously selected their victims, most of them minors, with whom, after approaching and starting a conversation, they threatened to attack them, sometimes with knives, to protect them. steal their cell phone or other valuables.
In some cases, they were even forced to provide them with the unlock codes for their terminals. In addition, investigators know that sometimes they even moved the minors to open fields or less populated areas to commit thefts, away from the sight of others.
Once officers managed to locate the nine victims involved, some of whom had not filed a complaint, “fear of reprisals” On the attackers’ side, they identified two people as the alleged perpetrators of the robberies. The participation of one of them in all the attacks was noted, accompanied on two occasions by the second young man.
Through investigative work, officers located and arrested one of the suspects on August 7 and set up a plan to arrest the second, who was finally intercepted last Tuesday.
The prisoners, both of Spanish origin and with context for similar eventsafter being placed at the disposal of the judicial authority, were placed in provisional prison as presumed responsible for the crimes of theft with violence and intimidation, illegal detention, invasion of privacy and injuries.
