After more than a week of consultations with the political forces represented in the National Assembly, Emmanuel Macron has not yet announced the personality he wishes to appoint for Matignon. The President of the Republic, who is returning from a two-day visit to Serbia, could speak at the end of the weekend or at the beginning of next week.
At the same time, the last weekend of August is an opportunity for several political parties to return to summer.
In Blois (Loir-et-Cher), Olivier Faure insisted, during his closing speech at the Socialist Party’s summer universities, on the persistent danger that the far right would rather repeat his call for the unity of his movement and the left. The strategy of the First Secretary, who decided to refuse Emmanuel Macron’s invitation to the Elysée after the President of the Republic refused to nominate Lucie Castets for Matignon, is being questioned internally.
In Levens, in the Alpes Maritimes, Eric Ciotti announced the creation of a new political group: the Union of Rights for the Republic. The man who is still the disputed president of the Republicans says he wants to “refound” his in-laws, believing that only “the union of rights” must be permanently established “to the government of France”. “The UDR reborn »he said, referring to the party founded by Charles de Gaulle in 1967 before being replaced by Jacques Chirac’s Rally for the Republic (RPR) nine years later.
François Ruffin is also organising the political reintegration of his party, Picardie Debout!, in the municipality of Flixecourt (Somme) and in the local structures of the Renaissance presidential party in Paris, Seine-et-Marine and Auvergne-Rhône. -The Alpes will receive a visit from Gabriel Attal, the resigning Prime Minister and president of the parliamentary group in the National Assembly.
